Lighting & Lookdev — Zombie Massacre — RenderMan Challenge

This artwork was created for a RenderMan Art Challenge, where I had the pleasure of being selected as a finalist among many talented artists.

The scene is set in a remote mountain cabin where a family had taken refuge from the zombie horde overrunning the nearby city. But places that seem safe often aren’t.

The moment depicted takes place a few hours after the tragedy, when an unsettling sense of calm has settled over the aftermath — a quiet, almost peaceful atmosphere contrasting with what has just happened.
